How reports are reviewed

We compare the report with the article, its current sources, official guidance, and other reliable references. A request may be accepted, partially accepted, declined, or held for further verification.

Types of changes

  • Material factual correction: An error that could affect health, safety, or understanding.
  • Routine update: A changed link, recall, recommendation, product instruction, or public guidance item.
  • Clarification: Wording is improved because the original passage was incomplete or easy to misunderstand.
  • Minor edit: Grammar, spelling, formatting, accessibility, or style changes that do not alter meaning.

Updated dates

A “last updated” date should reflect meaningful review or revision, not a cosmetic edit made only to make content appear new.

Review timing

We aim to review clear correction reports within five business days. Complex or disputed matters may take longer.

For urgent symptoms, poisoning, breathing problems, or immediate safety concerns, contact appropriate emergency or healthcare services instead of waiting for a website correction.
